Dear St. Paul Hermitage Families and Friends,
Today was another beautiful spring day. Our residents enjoyed patio time, window visits and virtual chats. We are grateful for the opportunity to be able to enjoy the spring weather. Next week we will begin allowing residential residents to spend some time walking outdoors during patio times. They can exit and enter through the patio doors. We are asking that they stay on the back path of our grounds and the monastery grounds. We look forward to getting some recreational walking in again. We are asking that they take their masks with them in case they encounter others during their walk.
I have wonderful news to share! We have received 44 out of 52 of our Health Center tests back. They were all negative for COVID 19. We thank God for the continued gift of good health. Unfortunately, ISDH informed us today that the lab lost eight of our COVID 19 tests. Needless to say, we are very disappointed. We will need to retest seveb residents and one employee early next week. We continue to pray for an end to COVID 19 and for continued good health for our residents.
We currently have had no residents ill with COVID 19 and no residents who are symptomatic at this time. Our current COVID 19 status is that we have had no COVID 19 positive residents. We have had eight COVID positive employees. Four of our staff who are ill are direct care staff on the Health Care Center. Four of the eight staff have recovered and have returned to work. We have had no COVID 19 related hospitalizations or deaths for both employees and residents. Let us pray for continued healing for our caregivers.
Blessings to each of you as you celebrate Mother’s Day tomorrow. May it be filled with the gifts of love, peace, joy, and many memories of those who loved us into being.
