Dear St. Paul Hermitage Families and Friends,
Today was another beautiful spring day. Our residents enjoyed time outdoors and many of them had window visitors. It is always good to see you as participate in window visits and virtual chats.
Our current COVID 19 status is that we have had no COVID 19 positive residents. We have had eight COVID positive employees. All our staff are recovered and have returned to work. We have had no COVID 19 related hospitalizations or deaths for both employees and residents. We currently have one test pending.
I have had a few questions about what our facility is going to do regarding routine COVID 19 testing. It has been on the news that CMS is asking facilities to do routine testing of facility staff and residents. Currently, ISDH is working on coming out with guidelines to meet this federal mandate. Since testing is very costly and resources are limited, ISDH is figuring out how to handle the new regulations. I have set up a few virtual meetings for next week with lab companies that we can partner with to begin to do routine testing. We are hoping to`q1 do the first set of routine testing in the next two weeks. I will let you know in the coming days what St. Paul Hermitage’s plan will be.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Know that I hold each of you in my daily prayers.
In Christ’s Peace,
Sr. Heather Jean

Dear St. Paul Hermitage Families and Friends,
Happy Pentecost! May the Holy Spirit bless you with abundant gifts, and may they bear fruit in your life. I am including a prayer for Pentecost. It is adapted from the New Saint Joseph People’s Prayer Book.
Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
Enlighten our minds to perceive the mysteries of the universe
in relation to eternity.
Spirit of right judgement and courage,
guide us and make us firm in our baptismal decision
to follow Jesus’ way of love.
Spirit of knowledge and reverence,
help us to see the lasting value of justice and mercy
in our everyday dealings with one another.
May we respect life as we work to solve problems
Of family and nation, the pandemic, economy, and ecology.
Spirit of God, spark our faith, hope and love
into new action each day.
Fill our lives with wonder and awe in your presence
which penetrates all creation.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Dear St. Paul Hermitage Families and Friends,
As we come closer to the end of the month of May, it is important that we look back for the many blessings God has showered upon us. It certainly is a difficult and challenging time but it is also a time that God has been very near to us. Let us thank God for protecting us and holding us close.
This weekend is supposed to be beautiful. The sun will be out and it won’t be too hot. A wonderful combination for sure!
Once again I would like to ask you to call on anyone you know who makes cloth masks. We are in need of a few more. Wearing them day in and day out causes a lot of wear and tear. If you are able to get any, please drop them off and ask the receptionist to give them to me.
