Dear St. Paul Hermitage Families and Friends,
It is with a joyful heart I share with you that Kathy Vanderslice began training this week for her position as Director of Nursing. Kathy comes to us with 35 years of nursing experience. She has served as Director of Nursing in Long Term and Skilled Nursing Facilities for over 15 years. She has a passion for serving the elderly. Kathy is looking forward to getting to know each of you. Once we are back open to visitors, we will have a formal meet and greet.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sr. Margaret Ann Dailey for serving as our interim Director of Nursing. She has done a great job of leading our nursing services. She will be staying on for a short time as a part-time evening shift nurse.
Our current COVID 19 status is that we have had no COVID 19 positive residents. We have had eight COVID positive employees. All our staff are recovered and have returned to work. We have had no COVID 19 related hospitalizations or deaths for both employees and residents.
I am in the process of planning another employee appreciation event on Friday, June 5 from 1:30 pm-3:30 pm. I will be serving Italian Ice to our employees and offering my gratitude for all they are doing. I want to invite you again to offer your appreciation by writing some words of gratitude on the paper attached to this e-mail. Please consider creating a “heart felt hug” for our staff. Your words and creativity will do so much to encourage our staff to continue their good work. Please put it in an envelope and drop it off or mail it to me prior to June 5. Thank you for your participation in this act of love.
In Christ’s Peace,
Sr. Heather Jean
