Dear Families and Friends,
Yesterday afternoon I received word that the ISDH Strike Team would be coming on Monday to do the testing. They came this morning and were able to get the testing done. It will take 24 – 72 hours to get the results. We were able to get the seven residents and one employee whose tests were lost re-tested. We also tested the two residents I told you about this past weekend. Last evening there was another resident who felt under the weather, so we had that resident tested as well since the Strike Team was coming out. I will let you know as soon as I receive the testing results.
I want you to know that when I was working in Health Care last evening, I injured my back while helping a resident. The doctor said that I need to rest on a heating pad to let it begin to heal. I am in my apartment resting but want you to know I am still accessible by phone and by email. I am also checking in with the staff regularly.
Our current COVID 19 status is that we have had no COVID 19 positive residents. We have had eight COVID positive employees. We have 11 tests pending – ten residents and one employee. Four of our staff who are ill are direct care staff on the Health Care Center. Six of the eight staff have recovered and have returned to work. We have had no COVID 19 related hospitalizations or deaths for both employees and residents. Let us pray for the two employees who are still healing.
Some of the sisters from the monastery will be cleaning the windows (that they can reach) of the Hermitage. They want the windows to be nice for your window visits. They hope to do so later this week since there is supposed to be several days of dry weather.
I was glad to see a few good days in the forecast. It was amazing what a little sun and warmth can do for a person. If you have any questions, you can reach me at 317-213-8430 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
