Dear Families and Friends,
Today was an interesting weather day. The rain this morning made me think we were in for a rainy day. God had another idea and sent the sun out to shine in all her glory. Of course, the downpour at the end of the day was another surprise. Spring is really something in Indiana.
I finally heard back from ISDH about the testing. They said that they need to investigate how the lab lost the tests. They want to do this before retesting. This was frustrating news as we have waited five days already. I called Dr. Hurley and will work with him to decide what needs to happen next. As soon as I know something, I will let you know. The residents who need to be retested are not symptomatic at this time.
We currently have had no residents ill with COVID 19 and no residents who are symptomatic at this time. Our current COVID 19 status is that we have had no COVID 19 positive residents. We have had eight COVID positive employees. We have 8 tests pending – seven residents and one employee. Four of our staff who are ill are direct care staff on the Health Care Center. Six of the eight staff have recovered and have returned to work. We have had no COVID 19 related hospitalizations or deaths for both employees and residents. Let us pray for the two employees who are still healing.
May your day be filled with many blessings. Just as the rain saturates the earth, may God’s grace rain on us as we keep surrendering to God’s love during this pandemic. If you have any questions, you can reach me by e-mail at or 317-213-8430.
