Dear Family and Friends,
I want you to know that I have not heard back from the ISDH Strike Team that will set up our time for testing. I contacted them on Saturday when I found out that 8 of our tests had been lost. I thought they would contact me today. Since I have not heard from them, I contacted them again this afternoon. As soon as I hear from them and have a date and time for the testing of seven of our residents and one employee, I will let you know.
We currently have had no residents ill with COVID 19 and no residents who are symptomatic at this time. Our current COVID 19 status is that we have had no COVID 19 positive residents. We have had eight COVID positive employees. We have 8 tests pending – seven residents and one employee. Four of our staff who are ill are direct care staff on the Health Care Center. Four of the eight staff have recovered and have returned to work. We have had no COVID 19 related hospitalizations or deaths for both employees and residents. Let us pray for continued healing for our caregivers.
It looks like we will have a cooler start to the week but by Thursday it should be in the 70’s and then start climbing into the 80’s by next week. While there is some rain forecast, it looks like there will also be a lot of sun. This makes me happy as it allows our residents more patio time. With the warm weather coming on, so does the chance of a sunburn. If your loved one enjoys being outside, please make sure that they have some sunscreen to protect them from the sun.
As we journey through each day, we are not alone but always connected in the Spirit. I pray for all of you and ask God to give you the grace you need to get through this challenging time. If you have any questions, please let me know. You can reach me by e-mail at or 317-213-8430.
