Dear St. Paul Hermitage Families and Friends,
Today we received another recommendation from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare. Beginning on 04/10/2020, we will provide all residents with cloth masks to wear when staff are in their rooms. We will continue to wear our masks, but having the residents wear one too adds another layer of precaution. If anyone is sewing homemade masks and wants to donate some, we would appreciate it. Our Benedictine Sisters are making some, but we could use some extra help to get enough for all our residents.
I spoke with the Indiana State Board of Health today, I asked them for approval to begin to utilize Nurse and CNA volunteers. Our staff has been wonderful, but we want to find ways to have additional help especially during meals times. We also want to minimize the risk of exposure. ISDH has approved the use of Nurse and CNA volunteers. If you know of anyone who is a licensed Nurse or CNA, who would be willing to volunteer a few hours a week, please have them contact me at or 317-213-8430. I will help them through the process of becoming a volunteer.
We have decided to offer a window Easter Egg hunt for our window visitor on Sunday. Our residents will be coloring Easter eggs and hanging them in their windows. We will keep them up until Pentecost Sunday. Please come and enjoy our artwork as you walk around the building. It is a way that we can share our Easter celebration with you. Our residents are excited about this project. Know of my daily prayers for each of you.
