Dear St. Paul Hermitage Families and Friends,
I wanted to begin by reassuring you that if your loved one has a change in condition, you will be notified of that change by our staff. I will contact you personally if a COVID 19 test is ordered. I have had many e-mail’s today from family members who wanted to know if they would be notified about a change in their loved one’s condition. It is our normal practice to notify the family Health Care representative regarding a change in condition and it will continue through this pandemic. The resident that has had a change in condition is a healthcare resident who already resides in a private room. The resident is isolating in place while we await test results. All of this done in collaboration with Dr. Daniel Hurley, our Medical Director. I have had a daily meeting with Dr. Hurley since the beginning of this pandemic.
Today our residents enjoyed exercise and rosary with Sr. Susan. For lunch we had a Chinese themed meal. The residents really enjoyed the Chicken Stir Fry. We had several residents call for another helping of stir fry. On Health Care, our residents joined in exercise through the in-house TV channel. One of our new PCA’s helped paint nails and do hair. We also had many 1:1 visits by staff and virtual chats. Tomorrow our men’s group will get to have a Zoom meeting with Rich who normally runs their group. We will also have a Zoom meeting with our Kindermusik kids. I am looking forward to these opportunities to have our residents connect virtually with some of their normal activities.
If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to me at 317-213-8430 or email@example.com.
Sr. Heather Jean
