Dear St. Paul Hermitage Families and Friends,
Today is Holy Saturday. In the Catholic tradition, it is the night that we receive new members into our church. It is the night that we hear many scripture passages that remind of God’s faithfulness to us. God led our ancestors through famine, flood, fires, plagues, political unrest and wars. Today God is leading us through this health crisis. God is here. God is a light in this dark time. My favorite part of the Easter Vigil service is when the Easter Candle is lit and the celebrant says, “May the light of Christ rising in glory dispel the darkness of our hearts and minds.” This is a prayer for all of us. We all have many worries, fears and burdens on our hearts and minds. My prayer for our community is that we will be surrounded by grace and know that the light of Christ rising in glory is here to dispel our darkness so that we may share the light of Christ with others.
Our residents have been busy decorating their windows with Easter messages. I hope that you will come by and walk around our building during this Easter Season. Come and see our residents’ words of hope and love for you this Easter season. Blessings to each of you this Easter Vigil night. Know of my love and prayers for our St. Paul Hermitage Community.
